Seasonal Home Maintenance – Spring
Spring will be here before you know it! The best way to start Spring is with a thorough home inspection. Walk around the outside of your house and look for any changes or signs of damage. Look for cracks in concrete, loose or broken siding, pooling water, loose or broken roofing tiles. Ensure your gutters are working as intended and clear any blockages caused by leaves or debris as needed.
Trim trees and hedges that may have split or broke during inclement winter weather. Your lawn will need to be mowed again and hedges trimmed and ready for watering!
Spring is also a great time to give the exterior of your home a good wash down. If you plan on washing down the home, wait for a warm dry day to get the work done. This will help prevent any mold or rotting from sitting water.
When cleaning your vinyl siding, a power washer may not be necessary and may also cause damage to your siding or masonry. Your garden hose could do the trick. For heavily soiled areas, you can use a mild detergent to aid in the debris removal process.
Regular home maintenance will prolong the life of all fixtures and finishes.
